About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours 30 minutes

Swanwick Lakes Nature Reserve is living proof that brownfield sites can be brilliant for nature! Since the Brickworks closed, the reserve has become a hotspot for wildlife and in particular for a wide variety of dragonfly and damselfly species. Dr Alison Barker has surveyed the site for its dragonflies since 2009 and will show us round some of the best spots for these jewel-like insects while pointing out some of the other natural history highlights on the way. If time and the weather allows, we will also do some pond dipping at the end of the walk to learn what lurks under the water at Swanwick Lakes.
